Rice's road game with Florida Atlantic on Saturday. October 24 will help kick off that weekend's slate of football action, as the meeting of the Owls is set for an 11 a.m. (central) start with coverage provided by ESPN+. The start time was jointly announced by the American Conference and ESPN on Monday.
This will be the seventh meeting between the schools in a series that began with an 18-14 win by Rice, which scored twice in the final 4:17. The all-time series is split overall as well as at each school's stadium (1-1 in Boca Raton, 2-2 in Houston).
FAU took the most recent meeting in the series, 27-21, last year in Houston, as well as the most recent meeting at home, 17-14, in 2022.
Rice returns to First Community Stadium this Saturday to host Tulsa at 3:30. As part of Owltoberfest, the first 1,000 fans will receive the first of a series of four Sammy the Owl bobble heads, which will be distributed at athletics events this year. This weekend's version will feature the letter "R," and when combined, the four bobbleheads will spell out "RICE". Information on the giveaway dates for men's and women's basketball and baseball will be released at a later date.
Single-game and group tickets for all three of the Owls' remaining home games in 2026 are currently on sale through the Rice Athletics Ticket Office.
