Personal Development

The primary goals of our personal development component are to promote a balanced experience for student-athletes within the Rice University environment and surrounding community. We provide an atmosphere that promotes the development of values, goal setting, responsibility and positive decision making while encouraging emotional well-being and professional growth. We strive to develop the "whole person" of each student-athlete, and we are committed to empowering our student-athletes to develop responsibility, self-reliance, independence, and personal values.

Each year, personal development sessions are conducted with each team, covering a variety of topics, including nutrition, personal responsibility, healthy relationships, stress management, confidence/self-esteem, and personal finance.
