Rice's women's cross country squad is set to compete in the 2012 C-USA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Southern Miss at the Pine Belt National Golf Course Monday, Oct. 29, in Moselle, Miss.

The women's 5K race is scheduled for a 9 a.m. CT start. An awards ceremony will follow the championships at 11 a.m. Admission is free.

All 12 full members of Conference USA are sending a women's cross country squad to the championships.

The Owls finished third in last season's championship. This season, Rice finished second at the Rice Invitational, finishing only behind Texas A&M, and finished ahead of conference foes Southern Miss and Houston at the Chile Pepper Festival.

Rice ranks 11th in the South Central Regional rankings, behind C-USA adversary SMU, who ranks third. East Carolina ranks 14th in the Southeast Region, and Tulsa ranks 6th in the Midwest Region.
