High School - A 2003 graduate of Notre Dame de Sion...Seven-time letterwinner (four in track, three in cross country) for the Strom and head coach Reynold Middleton... Finished second in state in the 800 in 2001 and 2002... Was also second in sectionals in the 800 in 2002... Anchor of the 2002 state champion 4x800-meter relay and ran the first leg of the 4x800 team that took second in 2001... Finished second in the 5K at the 2002 district meet... Two-time all-district... Cross country team was district and state champions in 2000 and 2002... Two-time all-state selection... Received first honors in 16 quarters... Earned the school's top scholar award for maintaining the highest GPA... AP Scholar... Member of the French Club and National Honor Society... Maintained a 4.14 (4.0 scale) GPA... Also recruited by Kansas State, Stanford and Duke before choosing Rice.
