Cole Named For Third Time, Murphy For Second Time

Rice volleyball athletes Nancy Cole and Megan Murphy were named to the AVCA Honorable Mention All-America on Wednesday. This is Cole's third selection as Honorable Mention All-America and Murphy's second.
Nancy Cole ends her Rice career as the career record holder in hitting percentage, at .320. She posted 3.53 kills per set in 2012, as she was named First Team All-C-USA. She finishes her career with 1279 career kills, and 397 total blocks. She was selected as C-USA Offensive Player of the Week twice during 2012, and became the 13th Rice player to reach 1,000 career kills on Sept. 7. She was named All-Midwest Region earlier this month.
Megan Murphy led C-USA in assists at 11.04 per set, as she was named C-USA Setter of the Year and First Team All-C-USA. She was named C-USA Setter of the Week five times during her junior season, and posted a triple double against UAB on Sept. 23. She was named All-Midwest Region earlier this month.
