Irving, Texas - Rice University volleyball player Tracey Lam has been named as the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The senior libéro from San Francisco collected a match-high 31 digs as Rice defeated Houston 3-2 on Saturday night.
It also marked the seventh time this season that the senior posted 30+ digs in a match. Lam finishes her career with a school record 2,399 digs, a figure that ranks second best in C-USA history. Her 698 digs in 2010 is also a school record, surpassing last season's 633 total. The 698 digs and 5.77 digs per set (fourth in the nation) ranks No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, on the conference single season record charts. Lam has been named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week four times this year and 13 times during her career.
UCF's Kristin Fisher and Rachel Vukson were also named C- USA Offensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively.
