Megan Murphy was named C-USA Setter of the Week on Monday, her fifth Setter of the Week honor this season. She had 13.17 assists per set and 79 total this weekend, as the Owls swept both of their C-USA matches.
Murphy had 41 assists against UCF, which was the most this weekend in a three-set C-USA match, and she added three kills on .400 hitting against the Knights. She posted her 12th double double of the year against Southern Miss on Friday, posting 38 assists and 12 digs. She has 30+ assists in 16 straight matches, including every single match of the C-USA season. Murphy leads C-USA in assists.
The Owls have had a player of the week eight times in the past ten weeks. Murphy set a C-USA record for most consecutive Setter of the Week honors with four straight Setter of the Week honors earlier this year.
Rice takes on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla. With a win against Tulsa, Rice would be tied for the C-USA lead with one match remaining.
