News & Notes
*The Owls face a challenging weekend schedule that takes them to No. 21 WKU (Friday) and to Southern Miss (Sunday). The league-leader in C-USA, WKU is undefeated (11-0) in league play and have won 15 consecutive matches. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles have won five of their last six outings and sit 7-3 in the C-USA standings (tied for 4th).

*The Owls currently sit alone in second place in the C-USA standings following a pair of wins against North Texas and Charlotte last weekend.

*On Monday senior outside hitter Leah Mikesky was named the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week. Mikesky earned her second career C-USA weekly honor by totaling 28 total digs in seven sets (4.0 digs per set) while also recording 5.0 total blocks (0.71 bps) from the left side. In addition to her defensive efforts, Mikesky led the Owls with 28 total kills (4.0 per set) while hitting .333.

*The last time Rice defeated a Top-25 team came against WKU (then No. 22) in five sets on Halloween last year at Tudor Fieldhouse.

*Rice is 4-4 on the road this season and has lost two of their last three matches away from Tudor Fieldhouse.

*As of Oct. 31 the Owls ranked 85th in the RPI standings. WKU (19th) and UTSA (64th) were the only teams higher in C-USA.

*Chelsey Harris is just 18 kills shy of joining the top 10 in career kills in school history.

*Junior setter Madison McDaniel climbed to 9th place in Rice history in career assists with 2,047. This past weekend McDaniel became the 10th player in school history to eclipse 2,000 assists. The Woodlands, Texas native currently ranks 13th in the nation in total assists this season (1,027) and first in C-USA.
