News & Notes
*Winners in 10 of their last 11 matches, the Rice Owls volleyball team begins a stretch of four of six matches on the road beginning this Friday with a trip to San Antonio to face the UTSA Roadrunners. The Owls then wrap up their weekend road trip at UTEP on Sunday afternoon. Rice is currently in second place in the C-USA standings, one game behind undefeated WKU (7-0).

Roadrunners Defeat Owls in Four Sets
Despite double-doubles from Madison McDaniel and Leah Mikesky, the Rice Owls volleyball team was unable to find a rhythm offensively in a four set (25-27, 25-21, 19-25, 18-25) loss to the UTSA Roadrunners Wednesday evening at the Convocation Center.

Owls Rally to Defeat UTEP in C-USA Opener
The Rice Owls volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the UTEP Miners in five sets (25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 25-11, 15-11) Friday evening in the Conference USA opener at Tudor Fieldhouse.


*The Owls are 14-6 all-time vs. the Roadrunners and 34-9 against the Miners, whom the Owls defeated in five sets earlier this season on Sept. 23 in the C-USA opener.  

*Rice is 3-3 on the road this season, including a 2-1 mark in C-USA play.

*The Owls are 9-3 at Tudor Fieldhouse this season and have won seven straight matches overall at home.

*As of Oct. 18 the Owls ranked 82nd in the RPI standings. WKU (20th) and UTSA (64th) were the only teams higher in C-USA.

*Chelsey Harris is just 62 kills shy of joining the top 10 in career kills in school history.

*Junior setter Madison McDaniel has climbed to 10th place in Rice history in career assists with 1,889. The Woodlands, Texas native currently ranks 11th in the nation in total assists this season with 869 and first in C-USA.
