Series Record: Rice leads, 31-9
NEWS AND NOTES
- The Owls travel to El Paso on Sunday to face the Miners at 2 p.m. (CT). Rice, who currently sits in seventh place in the C-USA standings, is 2-4 on the road (1-1 in league play). Rice leads the all-time series over the Miners, 31-9, including a pair of wins last season.
- Rice played a school record fourth consecutive, five-set match in Thursday’s loss to UTSA. The Owls have gone to five sets on seven different occassions in 2015, posting a 4-3 record in such instances.
- The Owls will be looking to avoid a three match losing streak, which last occured in late October of 2013.
- Rice checks in at No. 60 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings released on Monday. Rice trails only WKU (No. 19) amongst C-USA schools in the rankings. UTSA is ranked No. 88.
