News & Notes
*The Owls, winners of seven of their last eight, continue their homestand this weekend when they host the Florida Atlantic Owls (Friday, 6 p.m.) and FIU Panthers (Sunday, 1 p.m.). Rice has won six consecutive matches at Tudor Fieldhouse and is 7-1 at home overall.

*Rice leads the all-time series over the Florida Atlantic, 5-1. The Owls are also a perfect 4-0 all-time versus FIU.

*The Owls (12-5, 2-1) enter the weekend ranked tied for No. 25 in the nation in the VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll.

*Rice ranks eighth in the nation in assists (827), ninth in digs (1,108) and 11th in kills (869).
Freshman outside hitter Nicole Lennon has had a banner season for the Owls. The Katy, Texas native leads all of C-USA in total attacks (765) and is second in attacks per set (11.42), total points (274.0) and total kills (250). Lennon’s 765 attacks are the most by any freshman in the nation and she ranks third among freshman in the nation with the 250 kills.

*Last Friday, senior middle blocker Portia Okafor becamse just the seventh Owl in school history to amass 400 career blocks. The Lewisville, Texas native ranks seventh with those 400 blocks and is 17 away from tying Natalie Bogan (2006-09) for sixth place.
