Megan Murphy was named Conference USA Setter of the Week for the third straight week, becoming only the second player in league history to win the award three consecutive weeks. Murphy posted 121 assists over the three matches in the week.

Jordan Clampitt from Tulsa is the only other setter in C-USA history to win the award three consecutive weeks.

Murphy's 121 assists helped the Owls to two wins in the Rice Invitational II, and ranked second in the tournament in assists per set. The junior from Duncan College posted her third 50+ assist match of the season against Houston Baptist, tied for the third-most assists in a four-set match this season by a C-USA player, and tied for the most this past week.

Murphy helped the Owls hit .300 against Houston Baptist, the highest team hitting percentage by a C-USA squad in a four set match this year. Her 47 assists against Texas Tech are the most by a C-USA player in a three-set match this season and her seventh 40+ assist match of the year. She posted two double-doubles this weekend, picking up 12 digs against Houston Baptist and 10 against Texas Tech and now has four on the season. She added in 13 kills and three blocks over the course of the week, rounding out her totals.

Murphy led C-USA in assists per set over the past week, and Rice hit .240 over the course of the week, also tops in C-USA.

The Owls host Houston at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18 in Tudor Fieldhouse.
