*The Rice Owls continue their season-long nine-game homestand on Wednesday when they host the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 7 p.m. from Tudor Fieldhouse. Rice will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak while the Red Raiders enter winners of nine straight. Texas Tech leads the all-time series against the Owls, 25-10, and this will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2012.
*Rice junior setter Madison McDaniel currently ranks 22nd in the nation in total assists (390), which is good enough for fourth in Conference USA.
*Just a week after Chelsey Harris notched her 1,000th career kill as an Owl, Rice senior outside hitter Leah Mikesky joined the exclusive club with her 1,000th career kills in the Owls’ 3-1 loss to No. 24 USC. The Schulenburg, Texas native became the 16th player in Rice history to accomplish the feat. Mikesky currently leads all C-USA players in total attacks (415).
*Freshman libero Lee Ann Cunningham was selected to the Rice Invitational All-Tournament following three matches in which she accumulated 54 digs, and had two performances of 20 or more digs.
