Rice has won its last 12 matches against foes from the Southland Conference, dating back to 2008, and has won 17 straight sets against Southland opponents since 2010. The Owls defeated Southland opponent Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sept. 6
The Owls play their first mid-week non-conference game of the 2013 season, the first of three such matchups this year (Sept. 18 vs. Baylor, Nov. 7 at Houston Baptist). Rice went 2-0 in midweek non-conference games in 2012, and has not lost one of these contests since 2005.
