Rice University volleyball player Megan White, a senior from Coto de Caza, Calif., has been named Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 5) as announced by the league office.
White guided the Owls to the Rice Invitational II title with wins over Houston Baptist, UTSA, and Georgia Tech. She averaged a team-high 5.91 digs per set and established a career-high 35 digs in the five-set match against Georgia Tech. It is her first career Defensive Player of the Week accolade.
The Owls sport a 3-2 record for the season and now competes at Hawai'i's Verizon Volleyball Challenge this week against Hawai'i (Sept. 8), Cincinnati (Sept. 9), and Pacific (Sept. 10).
