Weekend Notes
*The Owls continue their seven-match road trip this weekend when they partake in the Omni Invitational from Boulder, Colorado. Rice will face Wake Forest on Friday before facing both Abilene Christian and host Colorado on Saturday.

*Hurricane Harvey affected the Owls over the past week in regards to travel. After their match at TCU last Sunday, the Owls traveled to Waco where Baylor University allowed Rice to stay and practice until Wednesday.

*Outside hitter Nicole Lennon was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday following a stellar opening weekend. The Katy, Texas native played a big role in helping the Owls win the SMU Doubletree Invitational, earning tournament MVP honors and a spot on the all-tournament team while Rice defeated SMU (RV) and Mississippi State. Over four matches (15 sets) last weekend, Lennon racked up a C-USA weekend-best 61 kills on 213 attacks while also collecting 40 digs. Lennon recorded double-doubles against both SMU (18 kills/13 digs) and Mississippi State (20 kills/10 digs).

*Rice is ranked 25th in the newest VolleyballMagazine.com Mid-Major Top-25 Poll.
