Volleyball season has started at Rice, with players reporting on Tuesday for the start of training camp. Rice returns six starters from its 2011 squad that went 18-13 and placed second in C-USA.

Training camp started on Tuesday with the team's pictures and welcome dinner. The squad's first practice was on Wednesday morning.

Rice returns two Honorable Mention All-America players from 2011, with senior Nancy Cole and junior Megan Murphy returning to the squad.

Volleyball begins their season with the Rice Invitational I on Aug. 24, as it hosts Air Force at 7 p.m.
