For the fifth consecutive season, Rice Volleyball received the Team Academic Award from the AVCA. The award honor's Rice's team GPA during the 2012-13 school year.

The Owls had two C-USA All-Academic selections in 2012, with Megan Murphy and Laurie McNamara taking home those honors. McNamara also picked up CoSIDA Captial One Academic All-District honors.
