TULSA, Okla.- Rice's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Tulsa on Friday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Mariah Riddlesprigger and Nancy Cole had 10 kills for the Owls.

With the victory, Tulsa (20-9, 13-2 C-USA) clinches the No. 1 seed in the 2012 C-USA Tournament. The Owls (18-11, 11-4 C-USA) are assured the No. 2 seed in the C-USA Tournament.

Nancy Cole had 10 kills off of .231 hitting to co-lead the Owls. Mariah Riddlesprigger had 10 kills and seven digs.

Five-time C-USA Setter of the Week Megan Murphy had 41 assists and a season-high 21 digs.

Daniela Arenas posted a career-high 27 digs and was joined in double figures by Kimberly Vaio (12) and Noelle Whitlock (10). Whitlock came a kill short of a double double, finishing with nine.

The Owls dropped the first set 25-22, before hitting .432 to take the second set 25-19. Tulsa came storming back, winning the third set 25-12 and the final set 25-19.

Rice takes the floor for the last time in the regular season on at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at SMU. Rice is the No. 2 seed for the 2012 C-USA Volleyball Championship, slated to take place in Tulsa on Nov. 16-18.
