New Orleans -- Jenn McClean and Ashleigh McCord each totaled 11 kills as the Rice Owls defeated Tulane 3-0 in a Conference USA volleyball match at Fogleman Arena. With the victory, Rice avenges a 3-0 loss to Tulane earlier in the season. Set scores were 26-24, 25-23, 25-19.

Rice is now 17-8 and 9-5 in C-USA action, while Tulane drops to 15-8 and 10-4 in league play.

McCord led all hitters with a .500 attack percentage on 11 kills and 1 error in 20 attacks. Freshman Nancy Cole posted 8 kills and a .615 attack percentage (8-0-13) with 4 block assists.

Owl setter Meredith Schamun tallied a match-high 34 assists, while libero Tracey Lam collected a 11 digs.

As a team, Rice hit .277 with 43 kills, while Tulane only hit .111 with 38 kills.

Visnja Djurdjevic led the Green Wave with 14 kills.

The Owls now play at UTEP on Sunday at 2 p.m. (CST).
