Cole picked up her 1000th kill on just the third play of the game, getting her second kill of the match to give Rice a 3-0 lead. Cole is the 13th player in Rice history to reach 1,000 kills. The senior from Duncan College finished with nine kills and three solo blocks in the match.
The Owls (4-6) lost two sets to Ole Miss (5-3) by three points or less. Humphrey hit .615 (10K-2E-13TA) and posted double-digit kills for the Owls. Laurie McNamara added seven kills.
