LONDON - Rice women's track & field volunteer coach and former C-USA champion Ariana Ince was added to the United States Track & Field roster and will compete at the IAFAF World Championships in London, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Ince, who will be joining Lennie Waite at the World Championships, will first throw the javelin on Aug. 6 in the preliminary rounds. She enters the meet with a season-best mark of 61.38m (201-4.00), which she set at a meet in Pennsylvania earlier this summer. Although she didn't meet the automatic qualifying mark, Ince was included in the expanded field since 32 automatic marks were not reached.
Last summer Ince finished eighth at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
