NEW ORLEANS, La. - Four members of the Rice women's track and field squad were honored for their success in competition and in the classroom by the USTFCCCA on Friday.
Marielle Brisbois (Pole Vault/Visual Arts), Daisy Ding (Jumps/Material Science), Cybil Obiozor (Jumps/Cognitive Science) and Cali Roper (Distance/Sports Management) were all named to the 2015 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, announced by the organization. The Owls four recipients led all Conference C-USA institutions.
A total of 838 women across 207 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
