Wade Wins 3K Steeplechase at US Junior Nationals

Columbus, Ohio -- Rice freshman distance runner Becky Wade, from Dallas and Ursuline Academy, won the 3000m steeplechase event at the U.S. Junior Outdoor Championship held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State.

Wade posted a winning time of 10:29.64. By virtue of the victory, Wade became a member of the U.S. Junior National Team that competes at the 2008 IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in July. The top two finishers in each event will compete in Poland, provided that they have met the qualifying standard.
