Three Owl Women Track and Field Athletes Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

Irving, Texas -- Three Rice Owl women's track and field athletes have been named to the Conference USA Track & Field All-Academic Team as selected by the league's sports information directors for the sport. The all-academic team for track and field consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key contributor to their team.

Rice athletes senior thrower Katie Dollinger, sophomore 800m runner Sophie Peeters and junior distance runner Allison Pye were selected to the C-USA All-Academic Team.

Dollinger placed seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.00m/173-11 at the C-USA Outdoor Championship. Peeters placed fourth with a time 2:12.50 in the 800m at C-USA Indoor and Pye scored points in the C-USA Outdoor with a sixth in the 5000m (17:24.71) and fourth in the 10,000m (36:37.09).
