MacFarlane Named Academic All-C-USA
Sophomore jumper earns first C-USA academic award

IRVING, Texas – Rice track and field athlete Belle MacFarlane was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team for the first time in her collegiate career, the league announced on Wednesday.
A sophomore from Dallas, Texas, MacFarlane holds a 3.77 GPA while majoring in both Kinesiology and Psychology. MacFarlane won the high jump (1.76m) at the C-USA Indoor Championships and followed that up with two victories in the outdoor season. She jumped a season-best 1.75m at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight, the fifth-best mark of the C-USA outdoor season.
MacFarlane is a two-time C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll selectee and was also named to the President’s Honor Roll in 2013.
MacFarlane will compete this Saturday in the high jump at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas at 6 p.m.
