Rice hosts the 2013 C-USA Outdoor Track Championships from May 9-12 at Holloway Field/Ley Track. Below is key information on the championship.
Championship Central (C-USA)
Tickets will be available at the gate.
Students from Conference USA schools free with I.D.
$12 - Adult- per day
$7 - Youth- per day
$25 - Adult All Session pass
$15 - Youth All Session pass
Fans are advised to park in the Rice Stadium lots. Foot traffic will be heavy over the weekend with Rice baseball hosting Memphis and Rice's graduation ceremonies on Saturday.

Events to Watch
Thursday, May 9
4:30 p.m. - Decathlon (Day 1)
Clayton Chaney looks to repeat as C-USA Decathlon Champion in the first day of competition. Chaney enters the meet with the best score this season in C-USA (7,598), and the eighth-best decathlon score in the nation. Teammate Chris Sanders ranks third on the C-USA list and looks to score for the Owls in the event.
Friday, May 10
2:30 p.m. - Hammer (women)
Sharae Robinson is the school record holder in the hammer throw, a record previously held by both of her sisters, Tina and Krystal. She ranks fourth in C-USA and 76th in the NCAA in the hammer throw.
4:00 p.m. - Decathlon (Day 2)
Chaney and Sanders finish the decathlon with the second day of competition. Chaney, who not only has multiple talents athletically, is also a successful DJ, looks to lock up a conference championship in his last C-USA meet.
Saturday, May 11
5:00 p.m.- Discus (women)
Robinson is the defending C-USA Champion in the discus throw, and finished 2nd in 2011. She has finished first or second in every discus and hammer event this year, and has picked up 10 event wins, five in each event.
6:00 p.m. - Pole Vault (women)
Freshman McKenzie Johnson is only the third Rice female vaulter to clear 4.00 m, having vaulted 4.09 m this year. That mark ranks 2nd in C-USA and 35th in the nation. Johnson won the C-USA Indoor Pole Vault, and ranks sixth in the NCAA among freshmen in the event.
7:30 p.m. - Discus (men)
Alex Zinchenko looks to score in the first of two events, having the second-longest discus throw in the league entering this weekend's events. He ranks 87th in the NCAA in the discus throw.
8:55 p.m. - Steeplechase (women)
Heather Olson posted the top mark in C-USA, and the 42nd-best nationally, by winning the Open-A Section at the Mt. SAC Relays (Apr. 18) with a time of 10:23.14. She finished third in C-USA and 42nd at the NCAA West Preliminary Meet in 2012.
9:15 p.m. - Steeplechase (men)
Travis Roberts is the only male athlete to win the steeplechase on the Ley Track this season, and has posted two victories and a second place finish in his three runs this year. Roberts ranks as the second-fastest steeple runner in the conference entering the meet, and is joined by teammates William Firth, Wyatt Doop and Tony Urbanelli on the C-USA Top 10.
Sunday, May 12
5:00 p.m. - Shot Put (men)
Zinchenko looks to return to the podium after a third place finish in the shot put at the 2012 C-USA Championships. He ranks 4th in C-USA in the shot put, and this will be his second event of the championship.
6:00 p.m. - Pole Vault (men)
Chris Pillow has the highest clearance in C-USA and the 12th-best mark nationally entering the championship. Pillow has cleared 5.05 m or higher in five consecutive meets and 12 of his last 13 meets, dating back to the indoor season.
7:00 p.m. - Shot Put (women)
Claire Uke has the best throw in C-USA, and has won her last three competitions in the shot put entering the championships. She won the C-USA Indoor version of the shot put this year, and has the 36th-best outdoor throw in the nation.
7:00 p.m. - Javelin (men)
Evan Karakolis has only thrown the javelin twice in his collegiate career, and broke the Rice school record on each throw. Karakolis had a long throw of 69.44 m on Mar. 15, winning the javelin at the Texas Southern Relays, a mark that ranks second in C-USA and 22nd in the nation. He is expected to return to action for the C-USA meet.
