Women's Track & Field Fares Well at Texas Invitational

Austin, Texas - The Rice Owls women's track and field squad posted several strong marks at Saturday's Texas Invitational in Myers Stadium.

In the 100m hurdles, Luci Cincinatis and Kimberly Stanford placed sixth (13.97) and seventh (14.15) respectively. Both times are season-best times for the duo. Cincinatis placed fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:05.03).

Shakera Reece already an NCAA qualifier in the 100m at 11.67, lowered that time today to 11.53 to finish eighth. Reece was 10th with a wind-aided (3.0) time of 23.74 in the 200m.

Brittany Washington placed 10th in the 400m with a season-fast time of 55.18. In the 800m, Rice's Sophie Peeters placed fourth with a time of 2:14.01.

Sarah Agara was ninth (11.98m/39-3.75) and Jenny Glover was 10th at 11.78m/38-7.75) Shannon Moran placed seventh in the long jump (5.67m/18-7.25).

Tina Robinson threw season-long in the discus in placing third with a mark of 45.71m/149-11.

Freshman Cleona Oliver posted a season-best mark in the pole vault at 3.70m/12-1.5 to place sixth.
