HOUSTON, Texas - Rice junior thrower Claire Uke competes on Saturday evening at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, NM.
Uke, from Cedar Hill, Texas (Ursuline Academy), will be one of 16 competitors in the shot put that begins at 7 p.m. (CT). She enters the meet with a season-best mark of 16.57m, accomplished earlier this season at the same New Mexico Albuquerque Convention Center back on Feb. 7.
This is Uke's first appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championship. She previously competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championship in 2013, placing 18th in the shot put.
ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 15 starting at 6:50 p.m. (CT). A tape delay of the championship will air Saturday, March 22 starting at 6:30 p.m. (CT) on ESPNU.
