IRVING, Texas – For a second straight week, Rice redshirt sophomore sprinter Hannah Jackson was selected the Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday (2/6/18).
The Sulphur, La. native broke Margaret Fox’s 1997 record 200m indoor record (23.80) with a second place time of 23.59 at the Charlie Thomas Invitational this past weekend at Texas A&M. Jackson now holds both the indoor and outdoor 200m school records.
With her record-breaking time, Jackson now ranks third in C-USA in the event and is 31st in the nation.
Jackson and the rest of the Owls will be compete in one final meet this weekend before the C-USA Indoor Championships (Feb. 17-18), split between the Howie Ryan Invitational (University of Houston) and the Don Kirby Invitational (New Mexico).
