Houston - Rice's Tina Robinson placed sixth with a school record mark in the hammer throw at the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Rice Holloway Field and Ley Track. Robinson's mark of 53.13m/174-4 surpasses the previous record of 53.00m/173-11 shared by her and Katie Dollinger.

In the lone running event final of the day, Rice's Farah Madanay placed ninth in the 10,000m with a time of 38:34.23. The Owls sit in seventh place with three points. UTEP leads the early competition with 28 points.

Saturday features the 3000m steeplechase final and the 1500m final, as well finals in the long jump, shot put, high jump, and javelin. All of the remaining running events on Saturday will be prelims. Running event action gets underway at 6 p.m.

Tickets
An all-sessions ticket is available for $25.00 for adult and $15.00 for youth (17 and under) that is good for all four days of the championship. Single day tickets are $12.00 for adult and $7.00 for youth. All persons age three and over must have a ticket for admission. Also, current students from each of the 12 schools in Conference USA will be admitted for free with valid school identification.
