Huntsville, Texas - Rice Owl pole vaulter Cleona Oliver set a new personal record in winning the event at Sam Houston State's Bearkat Twilight Thursday evening.

"Cleona Oliver became the fifth Owl to vault 13-feet with her victory today," stated Owl head coach Jim Bevan. "I'm very proud of her, it has been a long time coming. This mark should get her to nationals, but there's more there for conference next week."

According to Bevan, the Bearkat Twilight was a perfect meet to compete in after the grueling final exam period.
