EL PASO, Texas- Sharae Robinson won the hammer throw and the discus throw, while Claire Uke won the shot put, to lead Rice's women's track squad at the UTEP Invitational.
Uke's throw of 15.78 m won the shot put, setting a season-best in the process. Uke also registered a third-place finish in the discus throw (47.54 m).
Robinson won the discus with a throw of 50.87 m and won the hammer with a throw of 52.90 m. Robinson's victories came over fields that included competition from C-USA member and host UTEP, and future C-USA member North Texas.
Belle MacFarlane finished second in the high jump with a career-high 1.69 m jump.
Tyneisha McCoy finished tied for sixth in the 100 m dash, running an 11.83.
