Ince Places Second in Heptathlon

Rice track and field athlete Ariana Ince posted the fifth-highest point total in school history in the heptathlon at the Shirley Crowe Multi-Events held at Rice's Holloway Field/Ley Track. The senior from Gonzales, Texas, placed second with a total of 4,713 points. Katherine Evans, of Texas State captured the event with 4,848 points.

Ince's total is the highest since Funmi Jimoh tallied 5,335 points in 2007. In other action on the day, Sarah Agara posted a career-best in the long jump with a mark of 5.69m/18-8.
