Women's Track Posts Strong Second Day At TSU Relays
McCoy Sets Lifetime Best In 100 m

Tyneshia McCoy led Rice's women's track team on the second day of the TSU Relays, finishing in second place in the 100m, and running strong legs in the 4x100m and 4x400 m relays.
"It was a great second day for us," said Rice head coach Jim Bevan. "We had strong performances all around."
Heather Olson, running in her first race in over a year, won the 1500 m, as the Owls went 1-2-3 in the event. Olson ran a 4:39.84, finishing just in front of teammates Marie Thompson and Sarah Mason, who both ran 4:40.87 to finish second and third.
McCoy ran a personal-best 11.75 in the 100 m finals, finishing second. She helped Rice's 4x100 m relay finish third, running the second leg and with her teammates Simone Martin, Precious Knighton and Candace Springer, ran a 46.22.
Simone Martin made the finals of the triple jump in her debut, jumping 11.54 m.
