Houston - The Rice women's track and field squad competed Saturday at the Howie Ryan All-Comers Meet hosted by the University of Houston at Yeoman Fieldhouse.
The Owls placed three in the top four in the weight throw competition with Tina Robinson finishing first with a mark of 17.69m/58-0.5. Brittany Brown was second with a season-best 16.06m/52-8.25, and Sharae Robinson (15.48m/50-9.5) finished fourth.
Kim Stanford placed second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.839, just behind Sam Houston State's Tywaneisha Spiller at 8.836. Alex Gibbs was fifth at 9.22.
Rice placed four runners in the top 10 of the mile and was led by Allison Pye's fourth-place time of 5:03.83. Freshman Aaren Pastor was eighth (5:10.76), while Heather Olson was ninth (5:11.54) and Meredith Gamble placed 10th at 5:13.20.
The distance medley relay team of Kylie Cullinan, Sara Agara, Sarah Mason, and Farah Madanay finished first in a time of 12:48.14. Kendall also placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.50m/37-8.75.
