Houston - Rice distance runners placed second in four events during Saturday's action at the Houston Indoor Invitational at Yeoman Fieldhouse.
Keltie John was second in the 800m (2:12.94), Sophie Peeters second in the mile (5:03.47), Allison was second in the 3000m (9:54.70), and Johanna Ohm, in the 5000m, finished second with a time of 18:09.72.
Also, Lindsay Miller ran third in the 5000m (18:24.68), while Farah Madanay was fifth (18:34.88). In the mile, Aaren Pastor placed fifth with a time of 5:07.08. In the triple jump, senior Sara Agara placed third with a mark of 12.18m/39-11.5.
"We were much improved over two weeks ago and we had outstanding performances in the 5k by Johanna Ohm (second) and Lindsay Miller (third), Kimberly Stanford in the the 60m hurdles (ninth), Sophie Peeters (second) and Aaren Pastor (fourth) in the mile, Allison Pye (second) in the 3k, the 800 with a second place finish by Keltie John, and in the high jump with Kiri Kendall (seventh) and in triple jump as Sarah Agara placed third," commented Owl head coach Jim Bevan. "We are much improved and we are getting more of our team back so we are getting closer to full strength."
