Rice's women's track team kicked off the 2013 indoor season with a 5th placed team finish at the Texas A&M 12-team Invitational.

Freshman McKenzie Johnson won the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.98 meters.

Halsey Fowler finished second in the mile with a time of 4:59.61.

Imani Mark finished third in the 800 M with a time of 2:18.83.

Rice's team of Sarah Mason, Leslie Schilsky, Halsey Fowler and Allie Schaich finished third in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:12.73.

The Owls return indoors for the Leonard Hilton Invitational at the UH Athletics/Alumni Center on Jan. 18.
