Beazant Repeats as C-USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week
Rice's first repeat winner in women's tennis

Rice freshman Natalie Beazant, who upset the 15th ranked player in the country to last weekend in Alabama, has been named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Beazant is the Owl to capture the weekly women's tennis award in back-to-back weeks in the seven years that Rice has been a member of Conference USA.
She improved her spring record in singles to 8-0 with a straight-set upset win over No. 15 Mary Anne MacFarlane of Alabama, 7-5, 6-0, at the No. 1 singles position. Beazant outlasted McFarlane in a tough first set, 7-5, before racing to a 6-0 win in the second over the 2011 SEC Freshman of the Year.
The Owls will continue wrap up an extended series of road matches on Friday when they travel to College Station on Friday to face #31 Texas A&M 1:30 p.m. They will return to familiar surroundings on Sunday when they host 32nd ranked Oklahoma at 11 a.m.
