The Rice women's tennis team's home opener against Lamar will begin outdoors at the GRBTC with doubles starting at 2:45.
The Owls returned action after the Winter Recess by competing last weekend at the FGCU Spring Invitational in Fort Myers, Florida facing off against South Carolina, Kansas, Denver and the host Eagles in round robin action. They posted a combined 9-8 record in singles and 6-3 mark in doubles over the weekend.
Rice is unbeaten in 26 career dual matches against the Cardinals and this is the seventh consecutive year they have met in dual competition.
The Owls will travel to Malibu, California next weekend to participate in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. They will take on Oregon next Saturday in the opening round, with the winner advancing to play the winner of the match between Pepperdine and Maryland for the right to advance to the ITA Team Indoor Championship, which will be held in Madison, Wisconsin February 9-12.
Rice is set to return to the George R. Brown courts on February 14 when the Owls welcome Texas A&M for a 2 p.m. dual match.
