Beazant Closes out Fall with Singles Title

Natalie Beazant breezed to a straight-set win over Wichita State's Julia Schiller to close out the fall schedule wiht the main draw singles title at the Longhorn Invitational at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin on Sunday.
Beazant lost only one game on her way to a 6-1, 6-0 win in the finals. Earlier in the day, she and Stephanie Nguyen dropped the final match in the double draw to Texas' Lina Padegimaite and Elizabeth Begley, 8-5. Kimberly Anicete and Liat Zimmerman picked up the win in the consolation doubles final with an 8-5 triumph over UTSA's Isabelle Jonsson and Miriam Rosell Canudas.
The Longhorn Invitational wraps up the Owls' fall schedule of tournament action. The Owls will open their spring dual campaign on January 18 when they welcome Lamar to Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.
