Box Score

Natalie Beazant continued a pair of winning streaks to spark the 29th ranked Rice women's tennis team to a 7-0 defeat of Western Michigan at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Beazant teamed with Dominique Harmath to post their eight straight win in doubles, as the 30th ranked pair downed the Bronco's duo of Kathleen Hawkins and Caroline Aleck, 8-3. She came back later in singles to race past Nini Sujashvili, 6-1, 6-1 to score the first of six singles wins for the Owls.

Rice captured five of six singles matches in straight sets and picked up another win due to an injury to Hawkins on court 3.

The match was the second of a five-match homestand for the Owls, who will return to the Jake Hess courts on Tuesday when they host Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 3 p.m. The home slate concludes with a pair of ranked opponents next weekend (33rd ranked William and Marry on Saturday and 27th ranked TCU on Sunday).
