Owls Close out Florida Swing with Four Wins

The Rice women’s tennis team concluded play at the FGCG Spring Invitational on Monday by taking four of six singles matches against the host Eagles at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

Wendy Zhang, Lindsey Hodge, Micaela Haet and Priya Niezgoda each won in straight sets to give the Owls a 9-8 mark in singles action over the three days of competition after closing doubles play on Sunday with a 6-3 mark.

The Owls will open their 2018 dual season this weekend when they return to the George R. Brown Tennis Center to host Lamar on Saturday and 20th ranked Baylor on Sunday. Both matches are set for 11 a.m. first serves.
