Casey Clark, the Swimmer of the Meet at the 2014 Conference USA Championships, will represent Rice in three events at the NCAA Women's Swimming Championships scheduled for later this week in Minneapolis, Minn.
The NCAA meet begins on Thursday (March 27). Clark's first two events are both scheduled for Friday, where she competes in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-freestyle. The Owls' junior standout swims her final event, the 100-yard freestyle, at the NCAAs on Saturday.
Clark has qualified for the NCAA meet for the second-straight year. The native of Spring, Tex., won C-USA individual championships in the 200-freestyle and both the 100- and 200-butterfly to help the swim program claim a second-straight league title. In November and December of 2013 she set three new school records in those events.
Rice also has a total of ten swimmers competing in the upcoming National Swim Invitational Meet, a new collegiate championship event for provisional qualifiers from across the country not in the NCAAs. The National Invitational meet is March 23-25 in Rockwall, Texas. In the below video Rice head coach Seth Huston talks about both upcoming swim events.
