Clark Wraps Up Competition at NCAA Meet
Spring, Texas, Native Represents Rice on National Stage
March 22, 2014
Rice junior Casey Clark wrapped-up her third and final event Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Swimming Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
Clark swam a steady 49.67 in the prelims of the 100-yard freestyle to finish tied for 49th in the nation. She did not qualify for the evening's event finals. Earlier this season she swam the second-fastest 100-free in school history (49.49).
The 100-freestyle was Clark's third race in the NCAA Championships in just two days. She also represented Rice in both the 100-butterfly and 200-freestyle held on Friday. In early March the Owl standout from Spring, Tex., helped lead Rice to the 2014 Conference USA championship in women's swimming where she was named the league's Swimmer of the Meet. This year she set three new individual Rice records and swam on three relays that set new school marks.
