2008-09: Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medalist; C-USA Academic Honor Roll; C-USA All-Academic Team; Named a Rice University Scholar Athlete; Proved to be a dependable individual competitor and relay option... Set three new career-bests... Finished tenth in the 100-butterfly at the C-USA championships with a Rice-best 55.46... Scored for the Blue & Gray at C-USA's with an 11th place in the 100-backstroke while registering the second-fastest time (57.10) by an Owl all season... Member of both of the record-setting medley relays... Swam a 26.00 backstroke on the lead leg of the 200-medley... Swam the butterfly in the 400-medley to help break a 12-year old school record in the event... Registered a Rice-best 2:05.76 in the 200-butterfly to finish 11th among a field of more than 30 swimmers at the Cornhusker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.... Tallied a Rice-best 2:10.59 in the 200-individual medley to win on the road at Incarnate Word.
2007-08: C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll; C-USA All-Conference; Swam the lead leg of the record-setting, C-USA champion 200-medley relay... Top Owl with a fourth place in the 200-butterfly at the C-USA Championships... Finished eighth in the 100-fly after a season-best 56.86 in the prelims... Was eighth in the 100-backstroke with a career-best 57.10... Swam the team's third-fastest 200-IM at the NIKE Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
2006-07: C-USA Academic Medalist; C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll; Endured a tough first semester of college by sitting out from competition and training with an injury, only to fight her way back and contribute to the team in the second semester even though her health was not 100 percent... Anxious to show what she can do competing at full speed, she scored for the team in three events at the C-USA championships... Reached the championship final of the 100-butterfly and winning the consolation finals of both the 200-fly and 100-backstroke... Swam a season-best 57.42 in a timed trial for the 100-fly at the C-USA meet... Best times in the freestyle sprints and 200-IM were recorded at the end of the year at the American Short Course Championships in Austin... Contributed on relays while working her way back to full health.
High School -- A 2006 graduate of the Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas... Two-time all-state honorable mention for the Hurricanes under coach Jeff Bonser... Won the District 20-5A championship and was a state and region qualifier in both the 100-yard backstroke and 100-butterfly... Selected as the Hurricanes' Most Valuable Performer all four years of her varsity career... Served as team captain... Four-time all-academic selection... Earned the coach's award... Named USA Swimming Scholastic All-America.
