Owl Sophomore Named C-USA Swimmer of the Week For Third Time This Season

2011- 2012: Earned Rice University's Kathryn Scholl True Blue Spirit Award as the Owls' swimmer with the best enthusiasm and positive attitude at meets and during daily practice; Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Reached the championship finals of the 200-breaststroke at the C-USA meet where she swam a career-best 2:20.27 to finish eighth overall with the Owls' second-best mark of the season... Swam both individual medley events at conference, finishing tenth in the 200 (2:05.26) as the Owls claimed five of the league's top ten spots... Placed eleventh in the 400-IM with a career-best 4:27.30 as the Blue & Gray took five of the first eleven places... Scored a total of 24 points at the C-USA Championships in first year of Division I swimming... Contributed on a host of relay events throughout the year... Showed her versatility by swimming a 5:07.61 in the 500-free at the Phill Hansel Invitational in the fall.
High School - A 2011 graduate of Redwood High School in Corte Madera, Calif.... Prep All-American in the 100-breaststroke and two relays... Four-year varsity swimmer who was a North Coast Section finalist every year at Redwood... Was named the Giants' MVP as a sophomore in 2009... Helped lead the team to Marin County League titles... Personal - Full name: Madison Paige Livingston. Born: June 15, 1993, in Greenbrae, Calif. Parents: George and Susan Livingston of Kentfield, Calif. (one brother, one sister). A highly athletic and academic family includes her father, a former varsity rower at the University of California; her sister (Emily Livingston) is on the track & field team at Princeton; and two uncles (Michael and Cleave Livingston) were on the rowing team at Harvard.
