2011- 2012: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Won the consolation finals of the 50-yard freestyle at the C-USA Championships as a true freshman with a season-best time of 23.44, the Owls' third-fastest mark of the season... Scored a total of 22.5 points at the C-USA meet by placing in two individual events and an Owl relay... Finished 12th in the league in the 100-freestyle with a personal-best 51.39... Swam the second-leg of the 200-freestyle relay that was third in the conference with the fourth-fastest time in school history... One of three true-freshmen on the sprint relay... Also swam the 200-free at the C-USA meet where she posted a season-best 1:54.06... Posted a season-best 5:09.18 in the 500-free at the Phill Hansel Invitational in the fall.
High School - A 2011 graduate of Plano Senior High School in Plano, Tex.... Eight-time High School All-America... Junior National qualifier/finalist... Individual finalist at the state championships... Helped the Wildcats win the District 7-5A title and regional championship, and finish third overall in the state meet... Personal - Full name: Marissa Anne Konicke. Born: August 18, 1993, at Elgin Air Force Base near Valparaiso, Florida. Parents: Thomas and Patricia Konicke of Flower Mound, Tex. (two sisters). Both sisters swam at the Division I level, including Kelsey for four years at New Mexico State and Genny, who will be a senior at SMU in 2011-2012. Chose to attend Rice over Missouri, Illinois and SMU. Active in community service and charity work through the National Honor Society. Rice College: Baker
