example in the classroom.
2005-2006: Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll; Competed at the US Senior Nationals this past summer... Followed-up impressive rookie season with dynamic improvements in backstroke events and big point totals at the Conference USA championships... Finished second in the 100-yard backstroke at the C-USA meet across town at the University of Houston... Notched a 55.98 in prelims, the second-best mark in school history... Raced to a third in the 200-back (2:02.62)... Returned with an NCAA provisional-qualifying 2:00.44 in a C-USA 200-backstroke timed trial, the second-fastest mark in school history... Placed sixth in the conference in the 400-IM... Swam the lead leg of Rice's third-fastest 200-medley relay, the first Owl athlete to compete in the school's first C-USA championship appearance.
2004-2005: Rice Honor Athlete; Terrific inaugural season of Division I swimming... Won the team's Katie Scholl True Blue Spirit Award for her enthusiasm and positive attitude at meets and during daily practice... Best Owl in the backstroke, finishing fourth in the 200 at the Western Athletic Conference championships in San Antonio... Posted the third-fastest 200-backstroke in school history with a time of 2:03.08 at the conference meet... Finished sixth in the 100-back with a 57.21, one of the fastest marks at Rice... Swam the backstroke leg of both medley relays, including the school-record setting 200 (1:44.12) and the record-tying 400 (3:47.37)... Made the WAC consolation finals of the 200-IM with a 2:06.94 in the prelims.
