2011- 2012: Conference USA Academic Medalist; C-USA Academic Honor Roll; Rice University Honor Athlete; Scored for the Owls in three events at the C-USA Championships, highlighted by a seventh place finish in the 100-butterfly where she notched a career-best 56.23 in the prelims... Posted new career-best times in five different events as a sophomore... Swam a Rice-best 2:06.23 to finish 16th in the 200-backstroke at the C-USA meet, then came back just three events later and scored for the Blue & Gray in the 200-butterfly after a 2:07.50 in the prelims... Notched a pair of career-bests at the Phill Hansel Invitational held across town at the University of Houston with a 1:00.49 in the 100-backstroke and a 25.11 in the 50-freestyle (which she garnered from the lead leg of a relay).

Full Name: Carter Louise Graves. Born: October 30, 1991 in Memphis, Tenn. Parents: Stan and Karin Graves of Scottsdale, Ariz. (one brother). Both grandfathers were college athletes: Cecil Graves played football at the University of Arkansas (1951-53), and Bob Owen was a pole vaulter at Penn (1954). Great-grandfather, Benjamin Owen, was a member of the 1924 U.S. Olympic team. Rice College: Sid Richardson.
